Evo X Won't Start

Hey guys!

I have a 2013 Evo X GSR SST. It's been away for 6 months getting work done. We have now put it all back together, but now it won't start. When the key is turned the pump primes, the dash lights up but the starter doesn't start. We've checked the following:

-All Earth Points.
-Starter Motor works when connected to a battery. (But the wire to the starter is dead when checked with a multi tool)
-New Battery
-New fast key batteries.
-Pretty much everything else anyone in the know would check.
-Tried the hard key with the fast key on the back.
-Can't access the ECU with a Tactric using Evoscan.

We're thinking maybe the fast keys have lost their coding or the ignition barrel has or the ECU has gone all silly after having the battery off for months.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Is it a smart key ignition? Or standard ignition switch?

If im not mistaken the starter signal runs throught transmission range switch.

You can try finding the starter relay. Remove relay cover. Turn ignition to on. And make the starter relay complete the circuit and see if it starts.

Not sure why it's not starting as I don't even have a fastkey car - just wanted to say that's a crazy build

If you can't talk to the ECU, I think that's your biggest clue. Check all your fuses and the ECU relay and go from there.

True too. I had an ECU fuse blow, and it wouldn't start or crank. All it did was sit there, yelling at me with every fault on the dash possible and the rad fan on full blast. Also could not connect to the ECU until the fuse was replaced.

Thought I'd takeover your thread until you get an update or a fix, as my X MR wouldn't start today.

Has been driving fine, but startup has been increasingly sluggish when cranking, over the last week or so.
Has new plugs, only 1k miles.

today, no starter/cranking/spark whatsoever.
fuel pump works fine, hear injectors as well
I've tried swapping all the fuse relays around, didn't work
I CAN access ECU with tactrix - flashes fine.

anyone have pic/location of the starter motor, or how to test? Thanks.

Starter is under the intake manifold against cylinders 3&4. Can be accessed from the bottom. Remove the big splash shield piece, north/south lower cross member/engine mount, as well as the front engine mount bracket and pull it out. It's 2 bolts, one more nut on the back for the main wire and one plug to undo. Make sure the battery is disconnected first, of course.

Thanks, found it but no way I can get it out! Smacked it a few times with a hammer and car starts right up.
