Per the Bosch Automotive Handbook (9th edition 2014)… “The required filter fineness is dependent on the fuel-injection system. For systems with manifold injection, the filter element has a mean pore size of approximately 10-microns. Finer filtering is required for gasoline-direct injection. The mean pore width here is in the range of 5-microns”. The vast majority of high performance fuel systems utilize manifold injection and therefore, a 10-micron filter element is appropriate.

Can you get lucky with a POS 40 micron? Sure you can. But this is NOT the place to save $80.
Buy cheaper pine tree air freshners for the life of the car or something.

Thanks Jaraxle, appreciate it.

How do you think the Aeromotive filter would do without mounting it? Keeping it the same position as the small Russell filters are positioned?

Kinda depends on the setup for I how I mount it. Usually make a bracket for it, and use nutserts to mount it.

No, I wouldn't recommend having the fuel filter unsecured. I know with the smaller ones (Russel or jegs) some kits have it floating, but as the size/weight of the filter goes up the more likely something is going to break or loosen up from vibration. I made a bracket from some scrap metal and secured the filter to it using a mount meant to clamp to a roll bar. Then just made some PTFE lines going to/from it....there was already a threaded bolt hole in the firewall to mount this.

I was looking at the Radium bracket kit wasn't sure if there was other option around that makes it easy to mount?

I've used countless ID750 and Radium inline filters over the past years and those are def my 2 go to filter options. *ID750 with budget allows for the pre injector post pump filter. Radium inline filter is a superb alternative though as they are much cheaper just not quite as fancy/feature packed.
***edit i just recalled i also have a fuel lab filter on an OLD car i believe SS filter element but need to pull it apart to have a look, needs serviced anyway.
