So today I checked volts to the starter 12.5 or so. Shorted out the starter it spins up but doesn't engage. When trying to start it from inside car it just does a click and a small other sound and thats it. Suggestions please

Probably a bad starter. Maybe some lost teeth on the flywheel, you could try spinning the motor a bit by hand and see if it will crank after.

There is also the old smack the starter with a hammer and see if it works. That's a sign the starter is going bad if it does.

I removed the starer , is there any tests I can do with it out? Also I only have my fast fob. If the key lost the coding etc , could this be a result? Thx

I tested starter works good, reinstalled it. Took the starter relay out and wire jumped it. Engine turns over now but does not start.

Try checking relays first especially if they haven’t been changed. If not check fuses and tank of fuel pump. I had a bad pump before cause the same issue your having. Key fob is also something to check if you have a second one with a new battery.

Well , I checked the relay. Took it out did a manual starter relay jumper test turned over but didn't start. Checked the fob out, opened it up cleaned it out took battery out and tested it then put it all back together and tada!
