EVO X GSR 2015 not making compression
Hey guys pleased to meet everyone 🤙
so imma start saying that my knowledge for Evos are really slim that’s why I’m trying to get as much info as I can before I move on so please let me apologize for my ignorance in advance.
Now, I’m trying to see if you guys can help me out trying to guess what really happened to my engine.
Here’s the full story..
I was gonna take my car to the mechanic to get my oil pan resealed because I have a very small oil leak coming from it. When I was about 2 miles away from the shop, low oil pressure pops up on the Dash. So I stopped and put 1/4 of oil to it, just enough to make me reach the shop. I turn on the car, the light comes off and everything sounds good so I continue the trip. 30 seconds later the car turns off on me while I was driving (no warnings ⚠️), I go and buy 5 quarts of oil and put em on (didn’t check how much I had since it showed low oil pressure). I try to turn on the car and it wouldn’t turn on. I get the car towed to the mechanic and when he checks the oil there’s actually 11 quarts on it. 5 from the oil change, 1 from the low oil pressure and 5 after the car turned off on me while I was driving it. He drains it down back to 5 and turns it on and he hears the rod knocking noises. The next day he turns it on again and the engine sounds normal, no sounds out of the ordinary. He tells me to drive it and see what happens. I go ahead and change the oil again and oil filter (check for any metal pieces or sparkling fragments on the oil but it was really clean/clear. I turn on the car for about 10 min let warm up and it’s sounding normal, I take it out to test the engine running and 10 seconds later it turned of on me while it was running. The car it’s cranking it’s just not turning on and I got the battery checked and voltage it’s on the normal voltage.
Thanks in advance for the suggestions and options

I would find a mechanic/shop that specializes in Evos in the Las Vegas area and have the car towed to them.
Maybe try the regional section for a shop. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/we...hread-935.html

for next time it might be wise to check your oil level with the dip stick before just dumping in 5 quarts. The fact that you got an oil light and you weren't low is probably not good. Have you checked the compression as per your thread title? If so what were the numbers? What did the spark plugs look like? If not, I'd say pull the spark plugs and see what they look like. If they are covered in crap you could try throwing in a fresh set and see what that does.

thanks
1. I think you should stop working on your own car.
2. Get car towed to tuner, hopefully Evo specific, and have them look over the car.
Maybe this place? http://www.allaccesstuning.com/all-a...g-engines.html
I don't know. Never been out there and can't remember any big shops out there.
