Final Edition - To modify or not to modify

As the title says, I have a 2015 FE. Only things I’ve done are swapping the Recaros from my 2013 MR to the FE when I bought it and having everything clear bra-ed (EVERYTHING!)

My concerns in modifying are 1) a loss in reliability and 2) Resale vale. Having driven it straight from the dealer to the clear bra place, the car is in pristine condition and it’s so hard to change anything.

I bought the car with plans to modify in 2015 and my list consisted of a
  • Evo IX clutch master cylinder
  • clutch upgrade,
  • tranny rebuild (by jack with center diff),
  • CBE,
  • FMIC,
  • injectors/pump,
  • air intake
  • maybe a 20g to keep the torque low - get high boost at high RPM’s.
  • metal valve cover
  • tune

Just wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on this. There are so few of these amazing vehicles on the road which makes it so hard for me to alter a perfect car. I love the car as is but I hate being slower than many modern vehicles. 400WHP would be the most I’d shoot for.

Try going just bolt ons like downpipe test pipe cattback airfilter intercooler and a tune for pump and racegas or e85.
will be close to 400whp and you can go back to stock whenever you want to.

^ second that youl be easily be able to achieve 400 whp through bolt-ons while preserving the "stockness" of the car.

Do you think these would hurt the reliability? I would still need a new clutch/CMC?

stock internals you can push them to 600whp a clutch most probably if you do a lot of launches just dont fix it till it breaks.

Not at all, these cars are perfectly capable of handling 400/400 on a stock clutch, though you may want to upgrade to get everything out of it. Seen it many times, just don't go crazy with an boost levels and maintain proper AFR, with a good tune you will be safe. You may not even need a tune depending on the bolt ons. The car will hold value and if done right may even be an incentive for a future buyer down the road if you decided to sell one day. Just hold onto your stock parts.

Sorry to post in non related. New member restrictions lol.
TurboTJ noticed you’re in Colorado as well. I just did the recaro seat swap and had questions on how you got yours to work. Unfortunately I sent my ocm/passenger seat airbag ecu with my stock seats. Dealer will attempt to vin flash for me and recalibrate next week. I did not swap any parts. Did you use recaro seat belt latches etc or your stock FE parts?do you have all plugs plugged in or did a resistor mod?

Thank You

also related to this forum lol.

I have a 2015 all bolt ons with gtx3076r gen 2.
making 500/380 on 91 and 565/400 E85 stock clutch/stock engine. I can not anti lag launch it but the clutch holds wot shifts. Full tilt about 4000-4400rpm.

from what I researched. Doing the intercooler/BOV/intake/downpipe and possible exhaust/injectors and fuel pump. You could dual tune it 91 or E85 and be happy with the car. Saving money on ic piping/fuel lines/regulator/possibly intake etc.

Walbro 525lph fuel pump in tank. Modified return Venturi so base pressure would come down from 70+psi. Id1300 injectors. 8an feed-id750 fuel filter-ams rail-ams/fuel lab regulator @45psi-stock feed line as return-flex fuel sensor at tank.
