Hood Stuck

Anyone has any ideas on how to open a stuck hood? I've read through all the threads I found online and nothing seems to point me in the right direction.

The cable inside the car isn't pulling open the latch, so I'm assuming the latch is root cause. I've pulled so much that I've broken he cable inside the car, but can still pull on it with a pliers. I can't access the latch from under the car due to the radiator and intercooler.

I tried pushing down on the hood while pulling the cable, but no luck there. I tried wd40 and nothing. I got a flat head screw driver in there and moved the secondary latch around (hoping to free the primary), but no luck there either.

I'm hoping I don't have to cut the mesh on the grill, which I'm not even sure would help me. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sometimes, you can have someone to hold the cable and someone else push down on the hood.

Tried that and didn't work.

Anyone knows if I do cut the mesh on the grill if I'd be able to access the latch?

It's higher up than the opening on the grill. It's possible you might be able to hook the cable and get some extra tension on it. You can see it clearly in this pic.

That picture is very helpful, thanks. You think with a flexible socket I'd be able to unscrew the latch? It looks like 3 bolts if I'm looking at this correctly.
