Exactly. Will any 2012 Lancer trunk work?

 

Any Lancer/Evo/Ralliart sedan trunk from 2008-2014

 

I found a single junkyard Lancer within one hour of me yesterday. It had a trunk lid & spoiler for $150. I was there early this AM and the spoiler was there and the trunk lid gone. Going to be a task.

 

The HPDE event at Sebring International Raceway was great. I must start by unequivocally stating there is no way I could have reached the level of performance this weekend in any vehicle I've previously owned; and likely not any other vehicle in this price range. The car was simply amazing! I'm overwhelmed by the capabilities of this car. The fact that it's been over 10 years since my last track experience, on a track I've never driven, in a car I'd owned for a week with me pushing 70, to be able to keep up with many of the leaders like I'd never skipped a beat; and the car gets most of the credit. Zero over/understeer but the car slides sideways perfectly. The car so forgiving it's as though I could do no wrong. Car was never unstable at any time and was quicker than I imagined. The only issue I had was because I didn't properly prep the car by replacing the brake fluid and I boiled it on the 2nd to last lap of the 3rd session on the 1st day. Somewhat of a rush to be going 100+ coming into the corner with the brake pedal hitting the floor; pumping them got me to slow down though. After that I slowed my speed down and focused on the line for the rest of the event. Initially, I found myself into the red zone too much as I'm used to heads-up displays (would be nice on any track car) but it's easy enough to keep an eye on the tack and I mostly kept it under 7000rpm. My only regret is I didn't buy this car 10 years ago.
