Code P0017 Crankshaft Position – Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor B)
Code P0017 Crankshaft Position – Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor B)
I was driving on the highway in the evening and all of sudden engine light comes on along with an engine knock. I scan the car and it came up with P0017 Crankshaft Position – Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor B).I did notice cam gears were not aligned(out of timing) I checked the timing chain and no slack but I replaced it along with guides and tensioner. Still little bit of knocking and engine light still comes on.
changed out the camshaft sensors and crank sensor. Changed the VVT solenoid on the intake side and exhaust side.. even though the exhaust side had been deleted and just hanging on the side I figured why not. nothing seems to stop the code and knocking. Does it need a timing chain reset maybe?
Any Help or advice will be gladly appreciated.
thanks!

Hello
The cam gears were initially misaligned, it's important to ensure the timing is correctly set after replacing these components. A timing chain reset might indeed be necessary to ensure everything is properly synchronized. Recheck the alignment of the cam gears and ensure there's no further slack in the chain. Hope it helps !
