I'd love to believe this is real, but this has to be BS...besides, I believe in Japan they have "Gentlemen's agreement" where car manufacturers agreed not go make cars with over 280hp...(not so sure if it's still valid now)

I would bet that by saying twin turbo they don’t meant separate turbo for each two banks of cylinders but a sequential turbo. Something similar to these found on the BMW 3litet turbo diesel which in Europe is called 535d. I wouldn’t be surprised that Mitsubishi will employ this technology as I have heard that even the mighty BMW is going to use twin-sequential-turbo for the next 3 liter petrol engine modification.
Here are attached a few pictures of BMW’s sequential turbo setup:

There is no point of a sequential turbo on an I4, actually, there is really no point. The spool on an Evo is fast enough, they can't really make it better without upping the displacement or going with a smaller turbo, but they got the formula right. Anyway, the new Evo X is going to be 2.4 liters, so it will spool a turbo fast already, so I doubt they will do any silly twin turbo experiments.
Darn, I was reading the first post and thought to myself... wow, the X is going to be hotter (well, almost) than Courtney Day... 360 hp and an 8700 rpm redline w/a 2.5 L engine... heh, that would be pretty nice. damn you lunchbox! you got my hopes up, and then they were smashed to pieces! my life is ruined
