Also you shouldn't have a blind spot if you adjust your side view mirrors correctly.

Nobody cares about your useless opinions on wearing a seatbelt. The question is HOW DO YOU TURN OFF THE BEEPING, if you dont have any relative feedback to that STFU .

Case in point: At my work, there is an entrance gate. I have to take off my seatbelt to get my keys out of my pocket so i can open the gate and then put-put 20 feet to my parking spot and the stupid thing is beeping incessantly the entire time.

easiest fix for the beeping without any wire modification is to simply find any old seat belt buckle and click it in. solved.

you don't have to cut anything. you can simply unplug a connector.

went outside and checked. it's the middle one, black connector.. (**this is for a 2012 GSR, no heated seats)

the one on the right is yellow. yellow is typically SRS/Airbag systems.

Why don't you just get these and plug them in.

Use a Lexia 3 and diagbox software to de-activate it " it's Illegal for sure "
I don't know if this is the correct parameter but i'm sure it's there

WARNING : use it at your own risk, any mistake could ruin your ECU settings, don't ever choose automatic configuration.

Is there a simple way of disabling the god awful blaring of the X's seat belt beep without tearing half the car apart, cutting wires, breaking open the female buckle receiver that's bolted to the frame and screwing with that, or things like that? I swear it's the most annoying sound in the world, and honestly, I don't know if it's just me or what, but I swear if you turn the radio up to drown out the noise of the beep, the damn beep gets louder. I don't know if it's just the beep giving me acute schizophrenia, or if the stupid beep really does keep getting louder and more annoying the longer you keep your belt off.

The only thing I can think to do is cut the OEM belt and remove the buckle and just stick it in the buckle socket. I don't ever plan on selling my car, ever, but still, I would hate to do that just to get rid of a beep (as annoying as it is), and I'm not sure if there are any legal ramifications to doing it that way. Only thing I know to do is maybe see if I can't find just a buckle for an Evo X on Ebay, or order one from the dealership.

The way I have it set up now is I just have the passenger side seat belt buckled into the driver's side buckle. But as soon as someone gets into the car with me, I can't do that anymore. And when I install the passenger 5-point harness in, I'm going to be having the same problem with the passenger side.

Now, before I get the "lecture" I ask because I have a RJS Quick Release 5-point racing harness, and no one can tell me I'm not buckled in. I'm buckled in better than 95% of the drivers on the road, and far safer and better off than any stock OEM seat belt is going to protect someone in an MVA. I'm a Firefighter, an EMT, have a BSN degree, working on admittance to Med school if I finally decide I want to go back to school, and I've seen what a MVA can do to a person more than I'd care to say. I've seen people torn in half by seat belts worn improper, seen a person's heart stopped by the entire force of impact being put onto a single strap across the chest, crushing his chest, seen limbs torn off, body parts, and even organs, laying on the dashboard, on the road, decapitated heads, people's torso's split right up the middle and guts hanging out, had more than one person die in my arms or while I was working on them, had to have people hold up tarps along the side of the road/interstate because there were dead mangled bodies in or around the wrecked vehicle and it was something the public couldn't see. Things I'll never stop seeing until the day I die.

But we're all grown-ups here, and if someone doesn't want to wear their seat belt, that's their choice. It's not harming anyone else but themselves. Just the same as not every state having a helmet law for motorcycles. When I ride, I always wear a helmet. Some don't. But I don't lecture them on how their brains are going to be a mush stain on the road if they wreck, because they're a big boy and it's their life not mine, I'm sure they know the consequences, and them not wearing a helmet isn't effecting me in any way. Same goes for a seat belt, the only way some person not wearing a seat belt could harm me is if their limp dead body comes flying through their windshield, comes at me, lands on my car, and puts blood stains and a dent on my nice beautiful car that's just been in an accident. Whoopie. And still today, some cars going back even as the late 50's early 60's didn't even have seat belts, and if you still own one, don't have to wear one because of the car. I know this because when I was a kid I went to visit some family in VA one of my uncles had an older model muscle car, can't remember exactly what it was, but I went to put on my seat belt and they told me there weren't any. And being a kid I felt all cool because I didn't have to wear a seat belt. Cops can't ticket you for it because it's not OEM equipment, and because they're considered classics, and to retain original value, putting a belt in would obviously make the car non-original.

I just say this because I read the first few pages and after all the people giving lectures about "Just wear your seat belt blah blah" I got tired of reading. I'm legitimately looking for an answer to the question, and I'm sure the question has been answered and is buried somewhere in the pages of this topic, but I can't find it because of all the nagging, lecturing, and nannying.

So, has anyone found a work-around other than doing what I had originally thought about, and either cutting the belt to remove the male buckle, or just buying one on Ebay or at the dealership to just keep permanently buckled in?

If you have regular seats, you can simply disconnect the 2 wire plug under the drivers seat. See post #129.

If you have heated seats (or possible a 2013 model year change), it may have a 4 wire plug (post #131). trace back the 2 from the buckle and de-pin them from the plug connector.
