there's a white plug under the seat that i disconnected that did it for me (For when I wore a harness) - but I bought the seatbelt part that clicks in off of ebay maybe a slightly more elegant solution

You guys are making this way too complicated. Take the 17mm nut off that holds the seat belt receptical onto the seat. You will see two wires going into it. When the seatbelt is latched, the two wires break continuity. With the seatbelt unbuckled, the wires are connected and illuminate the light on the dash and the seat belt chime. Cut the two wires and tape them up. I like to leave enough slack to be able to re-connect them later if desired. Secure the harness under the seat with a zip tie. Thats all you need to do.

you don't have to cut anything. those same two wires you cut attach into a 2-wire connector which connects under the seat. you can simply disconnect that. nothing to remove, no tools needed.

That is true too. I did this late one night at the shop and didn't feel like digging under the seat.

put on the seatbelt. but then again ppl like you refuse to wear seatbelts and endangering other's lives also by allowing yourself to be tossed around while hitting a bump, thus jerking your steering wheels... anyways. ppl like you shouldn't get to live anyway.

just crash. that kills the beeping noise.

Yup, I just unplugged the plug under the drivers seat, did that within the first week of owning it.

I hate seat belts with a passion, I don't wear one, unless I'm in the passenger seat. Ever hit a bump and need to do a quick blind spot check with the seat belt on?

Brilliant. This thread is about stopping the dinging, not about not wearing it.

Yes and the seat belt has never impaired my head turning.
Also you shouldn't have a blind spot if you adjust your side view mirrors correctly.

My x has a blind spot no matter how you adjust the mirrors, unfortunately. It's the first car I've owned that I have to shoulder check. Really annoying.

Thats why this forum has went down the drain... because of comments and responses like yours in this thread.

I've had a for sale thread up for a month and for some reason idiots need to comment and put their two cents in even though its a for sale thread....

bro keep your nonsense to yourself and try helping the threadstarter with his dilemma.

Drives me crazy too, glad to know that there is a lead that I can just unplug. I can be sitting in park, with the parking brake up...... And the damn chime is still going!

I should be able to unbuckle the seat belt while the car is in park, without having to hear the chime.

I got a buckle from a child seat extension and modified it to plug in to my buckle, I just keep it in the center console. And yes I wear my seat belt. I just find myself in cold climates, waiting in my car for someone, so I leave the engine running for the heater and recline my seat to relax, so I take my seat belt off while im sitting there waiting and plug in the spare buckle. Sorry for the long post guys. Don't wanna get accused of not wearing my belt

Guys, you are way over-complicating this - if you only need to kill the beep for manoeuvres/short drives - reach across to the passenger seatbelt, pull it across and plug it in to the driver's harness!
