Well, if you don't plan on ever wearing your seatbelt might I suggest just cutting the clip off the belt and just leave it permanently clipped in?

well, i owned an 05 legacy GT and the way to disable the chime was to, put igintion on, and very quicly insert and eject the seatbelt from clip about 25-30 times then shut the ignition of with belt in clip and you should be allset, try it

I actually answer the question here... how you can disconnect it.
And then i was thinking. Right, he will do that and he might forget the seat belt. So that is why i made that post. I dont want him to post it later, no beep i forgot. The beeping is there for the reason you know. Even YOU can forget it. And you lucky if you will notice with the ticket.
I understood enough of what you were trying to say here to get it.

IMHO if you wear your seatbelt all the time, the beep is not what reminds you, its that you just get in the habit whenever getting in your car to put it on. With that said the beep is a nuisance when parking or trying to fit through tight alleys etc..

If its purpose was to annoy you into wearing it all the time then once you get in the habit, it should shut off. Its like "I get it already!".

So by no means should we withhold information with the fear of "OMG someone may not wear their seatbelt then!!". If they choose to do that, they risk the consequences but this thread was intended for those who do wear it and don't need an annoying beeping noise to remind them all the time.

Yo

After rereading your post I realize that you meant that this will COMPLETely disable it for good. What I thought you meant was that EVERY TIME we want the beep to go away we would have to insert and disconnect 25-30 times!

Hence the thought that you were joking. I would be willing to try this ONCE

Ill let you know my findings.

Negative Ghostrider.

Just have to pull the plug and put a loop wire in.

Cut a old set belt from a junk yard and shove it in there. Its an old stereo installer trick.

In my parents' Ford, the beeper turns off when you have the blinker on... not that helpful but try it out
