Just curious why does it need new ECU? switch i could understand because you could adjust the headlight beam setting. I mean you could change the headlight connector to fit d2s and use the same headlight so do you really need wire harness or dealership is trying to make the money?

DRL's are high beams run at 35% output normally, so thats means the bulb is only getting roughly 4 volts, that would cause your HID's to not function

I just installed the SSS headlamps on my base GSR. They are a direct swap, however, I still get the flickering issue. I think there might be a relay in the fuse box that the SSS model has that the base doesn't, but I'm not sure. I have the wiring diagram for the car, but I'm not the greatest at deciphering everything. Its annoying having to turn on the headlights during the day just to avoid the flickering.

Thanks for sharing.

Did you get the whole headlight assembly with HID or did you get your own aftermarket HID kit?

Did you get the whole headlight assembly w/ HID from Mitsu or did you get your own aftermarket HID kit?
