I've used the Apexcone/DDM tuning kit on a few other cars, and for the money, it really is great! (actually sheesh, I remember paying $400+ for a similar quality kit for my e36 M3)

You can actually bypass the DRL's by using a relay kit. Use battery power to power the ballasts and use the parking lights as the signal to the relay to switch. This way, there are no DRL's. The only downside is switching on the parking lights and headlights will turn on your HID's.

I bought mine from ebay. A seller named sinomedia in Japan. $57.00 shipped. Whole plug and play kit. Look great! There are only two companies that manufacture the lights and ballasts so no matter wich ones you get, you're guaranteed to get something good.

i have non-sss evo x,

i'm just confused as to what part i need for HIDz:

Composite assembly, lancer evolution, right, w/hid $662.99 each side

OR can I just get:

Composite headlamp, lancer evolution, right, w/hid $326.79 each side

I couldn't find any diagrams for either so I just wanted to be sure...

Thank you

You need the assembly ($663)

The headlights will plug n' play, however you'll have to leave your low beam on all the time or else they'll flicker.

As far as I know there are no known solution for non-sss to sss conversion

If you look up jRox on these forums, he has a relay bypass that works to disable the DRLs and eliminate HID flicker. The best part is that it turns the DRLs off completely. So all lights off when you have them off. Parking lights only when you have them in the parking light position. HIDs/headlights on when you switch them on. It makes your lights work as it should have from the factory.

He made them for the regular Lancers and I just put them on my X this past week. Work perfectly.

Thx for the info. I tried to get the same relay from jRox but we concluded that it wouldn't work on a car swapped to factory projector (sss) headlights.

I'm assuming you have an aftermarket HID kit?
