I installed mine last night in about 3 hours from box open to engine key on. I have not tapped rpm or tps yet, but that should only take another hour at most with proper soldering and sealing the under hood wire taps.

What exactly do you guys need in the way of instructions... there are only two wires needed if you just want to use the basic boost control function, power and ground. And the manual is very clear about how to plumb the vacuum / boost lines that go to the stepper motor.

Just go buy a mini add a circuit from pep boys or advance and insert it where the instrument cluster fuse is on the inside, driver side, fuse box and use that as your power source and ground to chasis.

You want to tap coil #1, for rpm (set # cyl to 1) and Accelerator pedal position for tps. I have not hooked these up yet but should have them done in a couple days. That should be pins 4 and 74 if I'm not mistaken.

Cool, lemme know how it goes. Once the full install and setup is done I may do an official "how to install and configure the EVC-VI"

There is another thread around here some where that talks about setting up the rpm signal but I do recall the #cylinders needs to be set to 1 in the evc

Just confirmed it works. I used the wire #4 and #74 for RPM & TPS. Note, pls select 1 cyclinder on setup. Now does anyone has a set map with the EVC easy writer?

Good day to all... sorry I'm pretty new here and I have read a couple of the post here BUT I'm still lost on this... I have just purchased the Defi Link VSD-X... I hook all the stuff up to my existing control 2 unit and everything works from the external guages... ONLY problem is that I can't find where and how to TAP SPEED and RPM signal...

I have seen and tried to understand
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/e...-ecuwiring.htm

But I still can't figure it out...in old school setup there is only one wire for SPEED and one wire for RPM.. and I dunnoe where to connect. The CAN bus thingy is not the same as older style setup where we juts "plug n play"...

On top of that... the Defi also requires adjustment settings to me made to PULSE RPM & SPEED signals setting to get it to work... does any one know what it should be?

I have not even gotten to the tapping signal part so I expect that if once someone points me to the signal point.... the pulse rpm n speed signal settings would be the next problem I will face.

In layman terms, has anyone successfully installed aftermarket sensors to RPM and SPEED module device that is not Evo X specific.. where and how do we tap the signals?

And could you explain it as simple as possible?.... Any help would be much appreciated..

Thanks thanks!
