Quote: Do you have bluetooth?

There is no switched/IGN power in the map light. However, there is a bunch of wiring for the bluetooth mic that extends from the glovebox to the map light. You can tap IGN power into the mic wire and then tap the mic wire in the map light.

This is how I ran mine, and it works great. To get the map light out, just pull. I think down and towards the back, if I recall.

I have a 2010 MR with bluetooth, and I'm trying to hardwire my Valentine 1. There is a blue, a pink, and a red wire for the bluetooth mic. Which one do I tap for IGN power? Can i then tap the black dome light wire for a ground? Please help, my searches have not yielded the info I need. Thanks Guys!

Sorry, the Bluetooth trick only works if you don't actually have bluetooth

It basically hijacks the bluetooth wiring and feeds IGN power from the glovebox into one of the mic wires.

There are plenty of spots for IGN, but you'll have to do a bit of digging. Good luck!

I have bluetooth as well...sounds like best bet is to just run a 12v IGN line down to either the kick panel or fuse box

Quote: i just purchased an escort 9500ix and hardwire kit. Im going to be mounting it using this:
http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/350Z/escortmount.htm

I will probably run the power wire to the fuse box since I need to mount the led/mute button module near the steering wheel anyways...
Sorry to bring this back from the dead. I was wondering if you ever installed this mount for the radar detector. This is something I'm really interested in. Thanks!

So if I purchased this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ht_2734wt_1132 it taps right into the fuse box? If so would this turn the detector on and off with the car?

Edit: You need a fuse tap kit.

What's wrong with the fitment on the blendmount? Can it be modified to fit better? I saw this and this could've been another option for me.

I really didn't spend much time with it but it seems to sit too high up so the little tab on the bottom of the mirror blocks the arrows on the v1 , i am actually going to go play with it later and hopefully make it sit lower.

Not to insult your intelligence at all. But itsnt the tab supposed to be up. And then you can adjust it down to dim the headlights from behind? I could be wrong. I need to look at it again. Other than that how's the fitment on the mirror since our mirror post isn't round?

Lol. You're welcome! So, how's the fitment on the mirror post? I'm undecided on which mirror mount to get. Blendmount or the adjustable z mount?

It's not bad at all actually , it's still a little crooked but very minor , and that is my fault. The product is well made , even comes with the allen keys to install it.

I think I might get the blendmount as well. What was the part #? Was it BBE-2005?
