Wideband sensor bung welding w/o removing DP?
Wideband sensor bung welding w/o removing DP?
Hi guys,
I've read several threads about the best position for the wideband sensor, etc but now the question is: someone of you has welded the bung on the (stock) downpipe without removing it from the car? I know that this is very risky because you can damage some ECUs, but at the same time removing the DP is a pain on this car.
I could disconnect all the ECUs while welding, but who knows where are all the ECUs? The only one easy to find is the main engine ECU...
So, what do you suggest?
Thank you
Stefano

Sorry guys...
I did not have the car here with me so I didn't check that the DP is separated from the "O2 housing", and the DP is easy to remove (it's the "O2 housing" that is very hard to remove).
I was convinced that the Dp was in one piece with the housing (like many aftermarket DPs), but fortunately it's separated. So no problem, I will take down the DP so i can weld the bung easily.
Ciao
