Basically you squeeze the top (gold) part of the bov inward. I used a large c-clamp. There is a spring inside and you are basically putting extra tension of the spring, this takes more vacuum to open the BOV. I did this on my IX and while it did hold more pressure at redline, I got more partial throttle flutter.

You CAN crush it and will work wonders, but getting a new one will work as well or even better, depending what ones you go with and how much boost you plan doing.

I never did the crush IX bov nor had it, but having a new (Synapse) one was working wonders.

FYI just crush it by 2mm. Take before/after measurements so you know how much to crush it, and compress it in steps so you don't overdo it. You don't want to crush it too much.

crushing is definatly the easiest way. I had problems with my hks and my forge.... ended up just crushing a stocker lol

I crushed mine a while ago. It only held about 22-23PSI max before the crush and now I'm getting the 25-26 that I'm tuned for. I didn't really notice any more partial throttle flutter either.

You know the stock bov can handle plenty of boost right? Just get a tuner or tune it yourself.

This reminds me of the wastegate mod.

You're better off just tuning your car than manipulating the parts. It seems ghetto.
