How do you install AMS Full CAI?!?!

So I got the cold air extension off another member and can't for the life of me figure out how the eff this thing goes on here! I can manipulate the hoses but the filter just doesn't fit. One of the pieces also has a hole for a bolt but I don't see a place to attatch it....ANY help would be greatful...YES I looked at other pics on Google...

I got mine on there... the bolt for the last CAI extension piece goes RIGHT NEXT TO the bolt that attaches the LICP. It is such a tight fit right there that you have to loosen the LICP bolt and then put the CAI extension on so that they can both fit together, otherwise they're competing for the exact same space.... and that doesn't really work.

I did have my pipes powder coated, so there is a tiny tiny bit of extra thickness, so maybe if you have plain/polished pieces there would be less of a fight between the two brackets, but just a heads up that the tolerance is very tight right there (looks like the install pic shows OEM LICP installed there, whereas I was dealing with AMS LICP... bracket might be a tiny bit bulkier).

You could possibly have something backwards if you have no idea how the pipe bolts up, because for me it was blatantly obvious where that bolt hole went. Also had absolutely no filter fitment issues. You snake that big "U" silicone coupler through another tight squeeze (this was actually the hardest part for me) and then pop the last extension piece (with bracket) on to that. The filter can easily go onto that extension piece, either before putting it in or after.

Here's proof that installation is actually possible:

A little off topic, but have you run into any hydrolock-ish issues, I'm debating on getting one myself but not if it's positive outwiegh the negatives...

One issue. We had an insane monsoon-type of storm in Chicago last year and the next morning (I was at a hotel) I pulled my car out of the hotel parking lot which was partially flooded (maybe 2-3" of water everywhere) and the car would not go into boost WHATSOEVER. As soon as spool started, power would cut like no-other and I hear the sound of turbo spooling down, like winding down. I put the car in the garage for a week and drove my other car. A week later I pulled the Evo back out and it still had codes thrown for Primary O2 slow response, Primary O2 no response, Secondary O2 slow response and possibly 1 more...

I cleared the codes and they came back. The next day I cleared them again and never had an issue again.

When I install my intercooler, I will be adding a heat shield to the air filter to prevent watery-splash up onto the filter through my fog-delete hole.

The problem with the flooding may have been non-related, but merely a coincidence since it was within a couple weeks of installing the CAI. Very possible that water made it a good ways up my exhaust.
