Clean gauge mounting solutions. Ideas please.

I'm getting ready to install a boost gauge and wideband in my friends X and was just looking for some clean ideas. Thanks in advance.

I like the pillar mounts too, but I've heard some horror stories about the Rexpeed one.

Trust me, I was freaking out when I ordered my rexpeed pillar pod due to all the horror stories. But it's really a decent piece for the money. Just be careful installing it. It doesn't fit 100% perfect, but it's good enough for the job.

I have the Rexpeed one now. Its OK. I got it used for cheap so I don't mind that it doesn't look perfect.

In the future, I might get this one.

What about the airbag though? doesn't this get in the way of airbag deployment? not trying to be negative just curious.

The stock A-Pillar releases about 1-3" to allow the airbag to deploy. There is a clip that keeps it from hitting the driver. As long as this clip is still used, it will not affect airbag deployment.

If your worried about getting up close and personal with your guages in a crash then I recommend the CP-E Gauge pod. It holds 3 Gauges and it doesn't obstruct my view of the road like some people think it does and I'm 5'8".

Thanks for the post guys. Keep them coming please. I don't think he's wanting the a-pillar pod. Trying to keep it low key.

Go to the FS section. There's a sweet custom job with 2 gauge mounts in the air vent section. That's the way I'd go. Or possibly a custom mount on the trim holding the hazards.

you could go with the zietronix kit with boost sensor and led screen. i got mine a bit ago and plan on putting the led screen on steering column in front of guages. no pics though... i think there are some on here. or place it in the cubby under climate controls.
