I put mine there too, then I have my Note 2 further inside the cubby.

 

I make pods outta those ashtrays too, so they flip up and have a gauge in there

interesting note: the ashtray plastic is some sort of fireproof hybrid thing, I can't even burn through it with my plastic welder

I have the same set up and it is a really nice piece. Of course it doesn't block my view, but I'm 6-02.
