I did a search on the forum but could'nt find any write up on how to install a DP, I'm just looking for the most PAINLESS and quickest way to do this myself.

 

what guides have you found for the dp install?

 

There is no painless way to do it. Even the turbo manifold was easier.

There's one nut that is just impossible, and that's assuming you don't have any studs break.

 

ya, i did this install by myself the other day and its a huge pain in the ***, no other way about it! have you done many other installs? also what brand downpipe is it?

 

Put front on jack stands, take off heat sheild on turbo, spray pb blaster on everything that your taking off. Unbolt rest of exhaust from dp, and believe or not most of the bolts are easier to get to through the engine bay. After you got all bolts, slide it out the back, and install new one. Get ready to cuss...alot. I hope I helped a little.

 

Yea the dp is a pain. I believe the bolt on the right side is really the main butt kicker, I would see what you can do from underneath, but it may be easier to access the bolts from the top side with the heatshield off of the turbo. Def spray everything down with PB blaster. Good luck.

One of the biggest issues is that when you put a bigger dp on the bolts are a pain to get even with a swivel socket.

 

I was 5 hours to get 7 bolts out
