I haven't tried either of those suggestions, but I used Meguiars black trim pre-moistened sponges and it at least covers up the faded and/or white areas of the black trim and it looks a whole lot better.

Magic eraser extra strength in the red box. Just did this last week to all my black trim and works really good.

Cool thx. Gonna give that a try! Did you leave the sponge dry or moisten it?

sorry to bump this, I have the magic eraser and the back to black. Does anyone know how to clean rain spots off the black parts of the doors? They are the black parts just about the handle on each door. Mine have water spot stains. I was reading about using M205 and a polisher but that was used on the plastic trim and not this particular part.

thanks

The black pillar trim is a vinyl sticker. A light polish of any sort should remove water spots without damaging the vinyl.

I would have never guessed that is a sticker. Maybe I will take a picture of it so I can make sure I have the correct part. thanks

If it's on the door pillar above the door handle, it's a sticker. If you're talking about the window scraper trim that runs the length of the door against the window, that's rubber.

The OEM replacements are about $15 ea.

okay so from your picture, it is the vinyl. Maybe I'll see if the dealership could swap them out and buy a few extras. Thanks, would have never thought that was a sticker.
