That is correct. No need to hook or unhook anything. You open the hood from inside the car, get out stand infront of re car stick your finger between the partially opened hood, release the latch and your done. The dampers hold the hood open. When you need to close it you just pull the hood down and let it close itself with gravity. Once you install the hood dampers you don't have to touch them again.

Confirmation that these are compatible with the 08-09 Lancers?

After looking at a Lancer and comparing it to the Evo the Hood dampers will fit. The mounting points on both vehicles look exactly the same so you shouldn’t have any problems installing them.

All you need to install them is a 10mm and a 12mm. All the hardware is included and it’s a pretty straight forward process, but don’t worry it comes with instructions. If you want to get rid of the “rod” that holds your hood open, this is the way to go. They are real carbon fiber and look amazing in person, the pictures never do carbon fiber justice. The fitment is great and I had no problems opening or closing my hood. This is how the Evo should have come from the factory.

Here are some installed pics let me know what you guys think.

They are not heavy at all.

For the people that don't like the silver washer and gold screw you can always paint them with flat black paint, that's what I did and they look even better!

I got a SEIBON hood, I would assume this would not have any fitment issues?

If you look closely at the install pics the mounting locations are not on the hood itself so they will fit any aftermarket carbon hoods.

Thanks,
Derek

Any warranty on the dampers themselves? Also what would replacement dampers cost incase there is no warranty? If one should break that is.

Thank you, product looks great. Sorry im picky about what I buy ha...

We havent had one single problem with these dampers. They are the same as our evo 8 dampers so they will last a long time. If you run into any issues ill take care of it

Derek
