I'm not sure.

There's nothing you can use them for really. Maybe Rexpeed has a better answer.

Maybe the top bracket is used on a couple applications, not just the Evo. Maybe one of which has an additional mounting point for a bolt on the side.

I got these yesterday from Rexpeed. They are installed and I am just seeing how they'll hold out before I give a full review, but so far so good! The installation is pretty quick and easy, although you need a wrench (not a torque wrench, won't fit) to install the brackets that go on the hood. The hood was hard to close at first, but once you get the dampers to compress, it's a lot smoother. The mounting bracket could be improved if it was secured by two bolts instead of one, but you won't have any fitment issues as long as it is properly mounted. The engine bay looks much cleaner with the hood damper...you will never want to use that metal rod again to prop your hood up.

I've had these on for a few weeks now so I can give a more thorough review. I've been home for the holidays and these are great for showing off my stock engine bay to family and friends. I would highly recommend getting a set of these to anyone, since it's a very well-made piece and you don't have to use that embarassing rod to hold the hood up.

After opening and closing the hood a few times the dampers have gotten a lot smoother than the first few times I tried it. It's still very stiff and if you don't tighten the bolts on the mounts, they'll probably come loose when you try to close the hood, but as long as you do a good job during install you should be fine. Anyway this is a great product for a great price!
