cp-e dash mounted gauge pod

Well after many months the idea finally became a reality...

First off I want to thank cp-e for this awesome piece, we really needed a gauge pod that didn't require drilling or modification of any oem pieces.

When I opened the box, I noticed that there were some instruction pages missing... good thing for me I had this panel off a long time ago to show Josh this was a good solution. I noticed that cp-e went a little further into removing items from the dash then I had to, so if you are one of the first orders out and are missing all the directions, they can be had electronically... but here is my way of doing it:

First you grab the bezel for the gauge cluster at the top and pull it towards you to pop it out of place...

NOTE: the cluster dimmer button can fall out, set it off to the side for now if you don't want it to be lost

Once you have that bezel removed go ahead and lift up on the OEM crown..

Next you need to remove the white clips with a small flathead screwdriver..

Once they are removed install them on the cp-e piece... there will be one extra

Once you are done with that, go ahead and install your gauges and put everything back in the order it was removed.

Here is an installed pic

Sorry for the blurriness... too hard to keep the hand steady

Now the ultimate question... is the panel in the way--->Nope!

I did some driving around and found no issues with the height of the panel and did a pull and can say that it felt a lot safer monitoring the gauges in this location as suspected.I would like to consider myself an average sized guy at 5'10" for a little comparison.

THANKS AGAIN cp-e!!!

I don't like the finish, but the product and placement look great.

I like it.

CP-E could have also made an alternative for just two gauges. Just take the center gauge pod out and leave the two side ones.

it is about as safe of a spot to monitor the gauges while keeping focused on the road

Don't like that one bit, the pod sits way too high on the dash, I would not be surprised if you got a ticket for it if you were pulled over for something else. I suppose if you are a good bit taller than me it may not obstruct any of your view but from the picture you posted behind the silver car at the light, you lost several feet of visibility of the ground right in front of you.

Do you have any pictures from the front of the car looking in through the windshield? Curious of what it looks like from outside.

Hm, the pictures don't seem too bad, but that does bother me that some visibility is compromised...
