Front License Plate
I ended up buying a bracket from this site http://skenedesign.com/FPBracket/index.shtml
If you pop over to my flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/lraynes you will see some close-ups of it on my car.
You do drill two small holes, but they are underneath. Its held up well, its what I ended up with after getting pulled over for no front plate within 2 months of buying the car. Its a simple design that even after removing it, no one would notice unless they were on the ground looking up.

yes the oem bracket requires three holes to be drilled into the bumper.
my fix was to overlay a clear sheet of 3M ventureshield on the bumper and then on top of the ventureshield i used clear 3m dual lock velcro. with three 5-6 inch strips of 3m dual lock, the front plate is not coming off unless you are intentionally ripping it off. the adhesive on the dual lock is very strong and stable in cold and heat.

i used to care (still do, just not as much)...then i got tired of getting pulled over by cops so i literally said screw it and used the OEM mount. and it's mounted to the side for the extra jay dee emm effect.
is it a two person job? I was thinking about using self tapping screws. Seems a lot easier than all the hardware it comes with.
i recommend you use a properly sized drill bit to make the holes. the oem mount kit it comes with has pre-tapped rubber grommets that not only hold it in place more securely, but also minimizes vibration, and won't strip threads. it's a pretty clever setup, actually. i did the whole thing myself, took maybe 20 minutes. just have to measure and make sure the holes are correct, since one chance is all you're getting with tapping the holes.
no. that trick won't work, especially if you're in socal where the cops are a notorious pain in the ***. i tried that once and the cop literally yanked off my plate and said "oops the wind blew it off" i was like...F**K YOU.

hm...i don't remember, i just matched it to the size of the grommet. the bit i used was metric, that i remember. the grommet goes through the license mount and into the bumper. when you put the screws into the grommet and start tightening, the threads in the grommet pulls itself and tightens up, essentially creating a stop inside the bumper.
I literally "3m red moulding tape" my black mounting plate on then 3m taped the licence plate to that. That way no drilling of holes. And still looks pretty clean. Can also remove it if i wanted and it wont hurt the paint.
Leave it zip tied, unless you want to do the DIY and put it into the strip in the middle of the grill
I've been driving with a zip tied on the grill and havn't experienced any problems. I rather lose .00001 hp, then lose $220 everytime for a stupid plate ticket. (can thank NY for excessive surchages and fees) the actual ticket is $50

Maybe I should mount mine...
