Kahtec Blinking Brake Lights

I had the Kahtec Blinking Smart Stop Plus 3 Delay Version on my 2011 WW debadged Evo X today and they worked out pretty well. Having almost been rear ended a few times in traffic, it seemed liked a good idea.

Here is the vid demonstrating the version I purchased.

LOL at 'Which one is the brake pedal?'

Pretty sweet mod!

Is the flashing set to a 10 second delay? So it doesn't flash every time you press it within that 10 second span?

He is 13 and scared to death to get in the car (for now). He has only driven the automatics up and down the drive way, so new territory.

If you hit the brakes they flash and then stay solid (not flashing) until you let off (of course). If you reapply the brake within eight seconds of letting go they do not flash. So in the vid I had him count to 10 and then reapply to watch them blink again.

Not bad for 40 bucks. Other versions only flash the third brake light which was not that compelling.

Hahahaha. Which one is the brake..

Pretty cool. Seems like it would work well. I've never been rear ended but I did have a stupid lady put her car in reverse and back in to me at a red light. Haha. What all has to be done to install this? Just some relays or something?

Who needs the brakes in this thing anyway? Can gear down like a beast...

The package came with everything you need (including instructions and wiring schema) except one wire had to be extended (cut and crimp), but overall pretty simple connection job (took about an hour). All done in the trunk and completely hidden. The device connects in front of the brake lights except for the ground connection, so it can provide the blink.

Here is the link:

I did not do a lot of research of other products but it appeared to be a inexpensive yet not very invasive option.

I wish, but Kahtec did not offer but a one speed option. Maybe someone else does, but I did not come across them.

If anyone does come across a fast blinking option please let me know.

I had something similar except mine was only the third brake light and it would flash 5 times fast then stay lit until I released the brake. Great mod imo

Sorry to bump an old thread, but OP, can you just write up a brief set of instructions (if you still remember them), I am not very familiar with electricals. I did understand the instructions they have provided, but while I am waiting on the module to arrive, I figured I would try and best understand this, so that I can get it done without any issues.

Thanks for you help!
