Now I have the xxr 552 and the guy told me he tried his best to balance everything but he said one of the wheels needed more balance weights but he got it done. Then this morning I was driving to work and it started vibrating above 70mph. Anyone have the same issue with xxr needing to be rebalanced?
I had real bad steering wheel shake when i first had mine put on. Installed hub centric rings and it mostly fixed the issue. I still get mild to moderate shake sometimes though at higher speeds.

I do have hub rings install but still shakes. Taking it looked at today hopefully it's not the wheels itself

XXr 550 18x9.75 +19

I thought 255/40's would be a good fit but am thinking either 265/35 or 245/40 would have been better.

Hey guys, I just tried on my friends 527 18x8.75 +35 and they didn't clear the brembo's. I was looking at the 550's and was wondering if they'd do the same or if I'd have to get the 9.75 width? I know it's a petty question, but what amount of MPG did you lose going from 8.5" to 9.75" and is there any rub or anything? My car is lowered from the previous owner cutting the stock springs.

I was preferably looking at the 550's in 18x8.75 but didn't know what offset would be fine since the 527's in 35 offset didn't clear the brembos.

Any help is appreciated

You want advice? Spend some money on proper springs before adding anything else.

yeah I am as well, going to get either gtworx or swift springs and put them on the same time. the cut springs are about 1" estimated which is what the proper springs lower to from what I've read

Just remember, you have an EVO, not a Chevette. It's not only dangerous to have cut springs but it's also so so wrong on so many levels.

I have the 527's but with the +20 offset and they fit fine I am not lowered at all either though so not sure if they would rub if I was. I guess it depends on the amount the car is lowered.

the 550's come with a +19 offset so I cannot see them not fiting our cars. There are people on the site that have them. Just not sure how they fit.

Just a couple posts below is a dude with the 550's and they fit, just a little rubbing due to his tire size choice I believe.

527's and 20+ offset does not rub when your car is dropped on springs.

awesome thanks. I'm thinking of saving up and getting the wheels and GTWORX springs at the same time and swapping everything at once and using the same 245/40r18 tires i have now for the 18x9.75" 550 wheels

I ran the 550's lowered on Ohlins until I got my Enkei's RS05RR (size 10.5 +25 ofset). Get the 9.75 +19 offset. They fit nice. I was running 265/35 AD08's. No poking out. Cleared everything.

As far as MPG, I can't answer than because I don't care but it's not enough to worry about either way.
