The offset of the rim is the biggest factor. The lower the offset, the further it sticks out of the wheel well.

When the rim sticks out farther than the fenders and is functional.

Low offset and a wide wheel. I wouldn't look at the "ultimate aggressive" wheel thread in the Evo X show & shine section for any examples of an aggressive fitment.

How do these aggressive fitments affect the performance and everyday driveability of the car?

+22 is not aggressive I assume?

it all depends on the type of car but for the most parts 20+ offset on an evo is prob the most you can do and is pretty aggressive to me

18x9.5 +22 TE37s are quite aggressive in design.. they will fit nicely under your EVO X

275/35/18s will fit nicely with out rubbing.

Also you can go w/ ADVAN RZ 19x10 +25.

275/30/19 size tires will fit perfect w/o rubbing

To help clarify this, since no one has given a good anser yet... "Aggresive fitment" varies, there is no one size or offset that is considered aggresive. It all depends on the car. So when people say aggresive they are meaning that there setup pushes the boundries of fitment on there car. So on the Evo VIII and IX 18x9.5 +22 is pretty aggresive, however on the ten that is pretty standard. So in short aggresive means that it pushes the envelope of what will fit on the car in respects to the width and the offset and the combination of the two. A simple guage might be, if it requires you to roll the fenders, it's probably considered aggresive.

^^^ Speed Element^^^ Please don't add to the confusion for those who don't understand the concept. The Te-37 is concave, not aggresive, that wheel on say a g35 coupe sit about an inch inside the fenders and is not considered by anyone to be aggresive on that particular car. I understand that "aggresive fitment" is just a catch phrase that people have picked up on, but don't start having everyone looking at concave wheels and just saying "wow that's aggresive".

aggresive fitment, is a combination of wheel width, offset, tire size, and car application.

As for negative's to this idea, depending on how aggresive (wide wheel, low offset) you get, you will most likely have to roll your fenders (one time deal, with really no other concerns other that your paint cracking... may or may not happen depends on the roll) other than that the biggest risk you run is having rubbing issues. Also a lot of the guys use camber to get the wheel to tilt in just under the fender, this as you know will tend to wear the tires out quicker. I see none of these as negatives, they are just part of the deal when you want to have the wheels fit just how you like it.

But the topic here is about EVO X.. not about G35 coupe. IMHO, TE37 18x9.5 +22 is still an aggressive and perfect offset for the X and not much worries about rubbing issues. The edge of the wheels sit flush with the fenders.

If i own an EVO X, I'd definitely run 18x10.5 +15s w/ rolled/pulled fenders. But thats just me

I can agree with you on some of the points you mentioned tho

I realized after I posted this was in the evo X section, but you understood exactally what I was getting at... it's not just the wheel that makes it aggresive!

A lower offset equates to slightly wider track with the same width wheel. Too much or too little can affect driveability. Things like steer and pull under road crowning.
