New Tires

i just purchased a new set of volk ce28n 18x9.5 for my X and i need to find some good tires before the rims come in. ive been looking at the BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW NT in 275/35 18 and theres been alot of good and bad reviews on them and ive also been looking at the Falken Azenis RT-615 but i want something good in the rain and on dry street.

please help me out of getting the right tire.

Depends on a lot of factors. I got 15k range out of mine. And that is with AXing and track days on them (agressive alignment).

i got a small nail in my stock tires today so i went to a goodyear place to get it fixed and they were telling meto look at the Eagle F1 All Season tires, but the reviews on tire rack said that they were all that great.

All-season tires for an Evo? I spose if you get a ton of rain and some light snow mixxed in but personally I would stick with performance summer tires. Goodyear is going to recommend whatever they can sell you and they aren't known for being a performance oriented tire place.

I run the F1 A/S as my DD tire. They are good all-seasons -- not summer/track tires.

Ah - Goodyear owns Dunlop

How do you like them? I've been thinking of getting the F1 A/S mounted to my stock BBS for DD/winter (it doesn't snow here much...just wet and kinda cold). Was thinking of maybe running a slightly wider track to help "compensate" for the dry traction, like 255 instead of 245. Any opinions on it? I noticed its not the "favored" tire over at tire-rack but then again, its got a whole lot less reviews too.

I just picked up a set of 265/35 Dunlop Direzza DZ101's and they look pretty decent.

I love them for DD/winter duty. I still would not compare them to an extreme summer tire - even wider the compound is not the same, nor the sidewalls. Wider with this tire would mean softer sidewalls than you would want.

And Rguy - DZ101s are not the Z1 Star Specs.

They look good for the price, thats for sure. Maybe not as grippy as the star specs but good enough to get me to work and around some on ramps with a little bit of speed.
