EBC brake Pads?????

Got a really good deal on the EBC Red Stuff brake pads.... Now the only thing is that on the site when I enter the search for the X is shows a part # which is
Front: DP31210C
Rear: DP31538C

First question is does anyone know if these are 100% the right ones?

Now onto the problem, I installed the pads on the stock rotors which were still good. No major grooves or anything, just light marks from normal wear.
I installed the pads and everything fitted perfect, nice and snug and stuff, BUT, when I drove the car around the block these things were squeaking like crazy. I thought I would give it time to break in a little and drove home local with a lot of stop and go traffic...... Man was I embarrassed, these things made so much noise it had everyone looking.
Does anyone know if they should be making this sound at all? or does it make it until they break in a little more? I put about 35 miles on it with stop and go traffic.
Would the wear in the rotors cause this type of noise? What should I look at to maybe fix the problem?

All and any help is GREATLY appreciated.

If they are a race compound like I think the EBC Red are, they will squeel like that when cold for sure. I would try bedding them in to your rotors with a good heat cycle and see what happens. Do you plan running these in the street or at the track?

I am going to try that tomorrow.... I plan to use them for both but I do more regular driving with some fast sprinted driving.

Hey wait a min... Did you install the rear pads on your car yet? I went to check out their site to see if they actually do have the new pad shape and the dimentions they gave are of a 09610 pad shape which is an EVO 8/9 Rear pad. Its WAY to narrow to fit in an EVO X rear caliper by itself.

Here is a pic of the differnce between the stock EVO X Pad and a 09610 pad. Did your pads look like this?

Stock EVO X on the left, EVO 8/9 on the right:

Chances are your getting the squeaking because you pad isn't secured in the caliper. You will need to replace the pad with your stocker, get the right pad from EBC if they actually make it, or get a set of our Pad Adaptors to make them work.

Well after I started hearing some noise from the rear, which I knew was the sounds of the shims, I took the tire off and noticed the pads were loose. What sucks was that the rears were done by a friend while I installed the fronts and didn't notice how small the new pads were compared to the stock. I will be putting the stock pads back on until I can get the adaptors from you guys.

Don't forget to give us a mini-review on how these pads compare to the stock ones.
