Installed Suspension...Poor Steering Response?

Tonight I installed my Stance GR+ with a moderate 2.5" drop.

It seems like the steering response worsened over the stock suspension. Does this seem normal? I have my alignment appointment tomorrow at 8am. I don't think that will fix it though. It feels like there is massive understeer where as with the stock setup, it seemed perfect.

I plan on getting new strut bars as well as sway bars, but won't be for a few months.

Any insight?

a 2.5" drop is not moderate what so ever. By going that low, you've worsened the geometry of the stock suspension.

Off the top of my head I'd have to say somethings not installed right. I'd go ahead and make sure everything is tightened right.

Didn't see what BigT pointed out. Thats probably your issue there. Don't want to sound like an a$$hole, but if you bought coilovers, so you can slam the crap out of the car you bought them for the wrong reason. Raise it back up.

A lot of people have dropped it that far and have been fine. Everything is tight. The LCA's didn't even go past a 90* angle, so that should be fine. I still have 2 fingers of wheel gap, so its not quite 2.5" but it should be around there.

If you haven't gotten an alignment, when you dropped it 2.5" (which is a HUGE drop, easily 3x what lowering springs get you), then you're toed the car in a LOT. You will be eating tires and the car is going to be plowing through every corner.

I dropped it last night, and my alignment appointment was for 8am today, and I had it done. Everything is now perfect with the alignment. Steering still feels less responsive than it did stock.

Was this just due to the stock settings for everything causing oversteer?

You might want to look into a front rollcenter/bumpsteer kits and rear sway bar it should help. Your control arms are / \ after lowering whereas the factory comes - -. You want to bring it back as parallel to the road as possible.

When you say perfect, what are the specs?

2.5" is a HUGE drop and you've changed all the geometry of your steering setup as the poster above me says.

Either deal with it or look for some whiteline products to help you.

Suspension:

Stance GR+ Pro

Sorry for pic quality...didn't change any settings on my camera due to being in a hurry. The last pic is blurry due to me being under an overhang that was shady as crap.

Its kind of funny. These cars can be lowered quite a lot without messing with the suspension geometry. My LCA's still aren't even close to being at a 90* level.

I'm at -3* camber all around with .04 toe in the front. I'm waiting until I get some wheels, and then I'm going to take it in for a realign at -5* camber and get it corner balanced.

-5 is quite a bit of camber.

If your steering response is low, you need to adjust your caster. Also, you need to tune the coilovers to suite your preferences. Play around with preloads and dampening in order to find the dynamics that you like.
