Got my 67.1 x 73 today, and there is plenty of slop when the ring is on the hub. I'm guessing it should be 67mm?

Did you check the markings on the rings to see if the ones you received are in fact 67.1?

Yes I did. I even called the vendor and they said "They are supposed to be loose. When everything heats up, the hub will expand and it will then be tight".

This is BS on so many levels. They should realize that some people have an education (My wife and I are both engineers, and she is a metallurgical engineer.) She works with material properties of aluminum every day all day. The rings are made of aluminum.

Anyway, their statement doesn't make sense to me. The rings are supposed to hold the wheels in perfect position while you tighten the lug nuts down. If there's .5mm slop in the ring when you bolt them down, they aren't going to do *&$^.

Pushed tight against the right side of the hub:

Pushed the other direction... notice how big the gap is.

Our hub size is supposed to be 67.1, but I've found that the plastic rings that are 67.0 fit good. It's a very tight fit, and I break them occasionally when removing them, but Discount Tire (America's Tire) usually has them in-store for 15 bucks.

If you are going to put them on and leave them on, experience some corrosion, and don't get your hubs hot, (cold, salted road climate) plastic is okay. But I run aluminum because I swap wheels monthly for autocross and track days, so I don't worry about corrosion from them being on there for months and months, and the extra heat from track and autocross braking can melt or deform the plastic.
