when the stocks pads get worn out what are you replacing with.
I hate the squeezing and the black dust the stock pads are making.
I had a vette and use Hawk HT10 on the street.
You have to be carrefull as when they are cold the coefficent is very low and you need to put 5 times more pressure on the pedal. But as soon as they are warm the stopping ditance is way shorter and they handle very very high temp.

how the brembo rotor will handle that? vette rotor are cheap EVO rotor are not cheap.

The HT10's on the street aren't safe and will eat your rotors as you stated. They also grind and squeak too. I use them for track pads.

I've used the Ferodo DS2500's and they are better than stock, except they squeak a bit. Right now I'm using Hawk DTC-30's around town and the bite very hard initially, but they are also squeakier than stock or the DS2500's. Rotor wear seems to be pretty minimal.

I've had really good luck with the GirdoDisc Magic Pads. Priced at under $200 with rear pad adapters you really can't go wrong with them. Amazingly I can still get them to trigger antilock at over 80 mph if I really get on them. First stop cold is a little less braking power than expected but after a few seconds they heat up enough to really haul down your speed. They aren't track brakes but for street use and spirited driving they beat out the stock pads by a wide margin and have held up easily to 5-6 applications of heavy braking within a minute whch is more than I normally need unless I'm at a road course. Noise wise they are as quiet as can be and when driving easy on them very low dust so I can definitely recommend them.

 

I will be switching to Ferodo DS2500's once my stock pads wear out. Loved them on my Evo 9.

as far as the HPS I 've been disapointed on the vette.
for the HT10 I run they on the street and they are not dangerous if you know that you have to press the pedal harder
the first seconde has less bite but the next two or three secondes have much more so at the end it is the same stopping distance

i don't understand why you're disappointed with the HPS? great initial bite and low dust at a great price. can't really beat that combo.

 

HPS pads aren't that great. Ask SmikeEvo on his thoughts about them. The HP+ is a better street pad.

The X is HEAVY. You need a better pad.

 

I use the Hawk HPS pads on power slot cryo slotted rotors. threw on some goodridge ss brake lines for a little more stiff pedal, and I have zero complaints. I have a 9 though, so the X is heavier, but it should still be a pretty good setup...

 

Stock Brembos. Expensive! Put 'em on last night. Got 49,000 mi. on first set.
