If you want your car to handle noticeably worse than stock (daily driver or not) after lowering your car, by all means don't get the Whiteline RCA kit.

The extra cost of having the RCA kit installed in conjunction with lowering springs is worth every penny.

I would be doing the work myself anyways so not worried about the labor costs. I did hear that it was a rather big job. I have a lift and press and stuff so not to worried about it. I will get it soon after my drop.

I am only aware of 2 issues from 2 forum members with the roll center kit.

The first had an issue with a nut stripping ...It is the only time I have heard of this issue and when I had mine installed by Robi Spec, the onlly time he had heard of it and he pretty much installs the kit every time he installs coilovers.

The second is from a member here who melted the boots after removing the dust shield from behind the brake (Iguess for a larger brake kit).

each of those appear isolated. I have had the kit for almost 2 yrs now with no issues.

My X is lowered on Eibach springs. I very much want to put one of these kits on my car but I'm hesitant for this exact reason. My hesitation does not stem from hearsay either. I have personally experienced these boots ripping on TWO sets of RCA's. The boot material might stand up better in southern climates, but up here in the salt belt, the hot and cold break them down in short order. If there was a way to use the factory boots, or upgrade to something that will last, I'd be much more interested.

There has to be more to this than you are saying. I have had the kit going on my third winter with no issues in northeast Ohio. I know of at least one other person in the same area with no issues going on his 2nd winter with many track days and a third with an Evo iv which uses basically the same kit , also no issues.

I don't know what to tell you man. Here is a pic of the boot on the tie rod. This was two winters worth. Notice the cracking. They were toast about a year after this pic was taken. The ball joints were just as bad and one had so much gunk in it from the top of the boot not sealing well that it had to be replaced.

wow your underside is a mess. you should wash it every time you wash your car and it will stay rust free, although i can imagine how hard this would be in a place with snow on the ground for months at a time.

Uhhh, yeah, that is what salt does man! It tears **** up! Car only had 40k miles on it when that pic was taken. I constantly sprayed it off too.

I totally agree! But what better vehicle to tackle these crap snow days than an Evo? My evo X that I just bought has never seen snow. It pains me to take it through all this stuff, but whatever. What can you do?

Sorry to get OT, but seriously, I had issues with those RCA kits. I've heard that the OEM boots will work with them, but I've not actually ever seen anyone change them out. When I had problems I emailed whiteline and also started a thread some time ago and they stand behind their product, which is good. They also hooked me up when I needed a new set because I b*tched about it. But the fact remains that it's a problem, and I don't want to be replacing those every few years. I want something that will last the life of a car, as a ball joint should.
