This is a very interesting thread. Those of you who have this product installed, please continue to post your personal experience with the kit.

I just orders the kit bc I'm installing my Spec Rs this weekend. Did I make the wrong decision, or is this wear and tear worth the short term benefit?

Sorry to get OT, but seriously, I had issues with those RCA kits. I've heard that the OEM boots will work with them, but I've not actually ever seen anyone change them out. When I had problems I emailed whiteline and also started a thread some time ago and they stand behind their product, which is good. They also hooked me up when I needed a new set because I b*tched about it. But the fact remains that it's a problem, and I don't want to be replacing those every few years. I want something that will last the life of a car, as a ball joint should.
i have also heard you can replace with stock boots, i am going to do this on saturday when i install them.

anyone know if this kit has been improved? I have 2 kits here from a group buy, one for a friend, and they are different colours and the boots are different...same part numbers!

Hmmm...this is definitely interesting. Thinking of grabbing a set myself but would like to hear an answer to the revision/long term reports.

Interesting to see which of the 2 you get, mine were bought at the same time!!

Imo the ones on the left of my pic with the crease line around the middle seem to be an older design, same design as the pic further back in this thread of cracking by black95tt, the other pic of the set which has been fine seems to be the more yellow and rounded boot in the right of my pic.........

The boot material might stand up better in southern climates, but up here in the salt belt, the hot and cold break them down in short order. If there was a way to use the factory boots, or upgrade to something that will last, I'd be much more interested.
Whiteline stands by their product, I had one of the toe rod ends loosen and distort in the knuckle, not sure if it was caused by kissing a pole on an ice rink or it didn't get tightened down well enough or what, but I called them, in AU... they put me in touch with local distributor and they replaced it for free. Did you call them?

Yes, I did contact them. You must have missed this post:

i installed the cobb springs and roll center adjustment.....only problem i had was that i didn't realize that the RCA ball joint had a notch in i so i ruined the bolts trying to get them back in.

the ride overall is AMAZING! this is how it should have been stock.

no i didn't, i got the updated boots from whiteline so i figured i would give them the benifit of the doubt and use them.

Any idea if it is bad juju to have have the notch lined up? other than having to force the bolt obviously?

I got an alignment yesterday with ~-1 camber all the way around and as close to 0 toe as he could get it, and it feels so much more smooth and controlled now around turns.
