Anyone Tracked/AutoX Hankook V12 K110 Evo
Need some feedback here and it'll probably help some people out there that are looking for some budget track tires. Is it worth saving $400 dollars to use these non-competitively just to get you around the track alive while still having fun or would you rather fork the extra $400 and get straight up street track tires like Advan AD08, Dunlop Star Specs, Hankook RS3 and tear up the track at a faster wear rate?

I feel the Hankook V12's are one of the best overall tires as they have excellent dry and wet grip, amazing tread life and unbeatable pricing from most vendors. I've run those for 2 years now and they have seen city and highway daily driving, numerous canyon runs and some track weekends. I am finally getting to the point where they need to be replaced.
The RS-3's, like many extreme performance street tires, will have superior dry traction at the expense of tread life, price, noise, etc. The RS-3's are definitely one of the best tires for the price in that tier. Just be honest with yourself regarding where you use your car primarily. If it's more of a weekend driver that will see Auto-Crossing and Road Racing, then the extreme tier tires will be more suitable. If your car is a daily driver that sees commutes significantly more the any sort of competition, then going down a performance tier that has better wet traction and tread life may be more practical.

personally i wouldn't waste my time at the track unless i was running *specs or higher, unless you're not actually trying to go fast :P . right now the best bangforthebuck are the rs3's but the *specs are more of a street/track tire, whereas the rs3 is more for the track. if you have an extra set of rims, get the rs3's and have track setup and run the v12 for everyday driving.

Thanks for all the constructive feedback. RS3 seems to be the proper choice because I do have V12's currently on my 19" rims but I also have a second set of 18" rims that are going to be for track use only. The Evo is currently a weekend only car so for styling I'll roll in my 19" RG-D but for track I definitely going to trash it on 18". Thanks again for the feedback. The douchebags in the other EvoXforums are giving all sorts of non-sensible feedbacks and instead *****ing at the OP for even asking.

I've put 20k miles on my Dunlop star specs with track days and I have over half my tread left. Maybe more like 3/4. Either that or I just don't go through tires that fast.
