Pads and rotors?

Pads and rotors? I need both, what should I get? It's is for my wife's MR the car will never see a track. Always will be street driven just around town and some HWY driving. I don't want to drop $2000 at the dealership. I can do the work myself easily. I've never done Evo brakes mostly Audi brakes so I know Brands and such for those but what is good for the Evo? Looking for low to no dust.

First off, how many miles on her car? Since it's never seen the track, I'm willing to better her OEM rotors are still fine and at worse only need to be turned.

As for pads here's what I like for daily-driver street use that has good performance, no noise, and less dusty than stock Brembo/Ferodo pads:

-RacingBrake ET500 (had these on my IX)
-Stoptech Street Performance (have these on my X)

The RB ET500's are more expensive than the Stoptechs, but do have a little better bite and dust less. The Stoptechs are still very nice pads though and a very reasonable price; less dust than stock and always quiet. The ET500's also worked well for autocross, but I've yet to take the Stoptechs anywhere but the street.

Likely right on the rotors! I was thinking stoptech alot of people use these on Audi's. Also thinking Akebono as I've used these on my S4 with good results not sure if they make them for the Evo.

Around 30k miles on my car I installed the Stoptech pads and flushed the brake fluid system with ATE Super Blue and I'm very satisfied; especially since total I spent around $125 for it all! At four years old her fluid is definitely due for a flush.

The car is just over 20k mi but I just bought it out of state a couple weeks ago and brought it to the local dealership for a oil change and fluid check and asked them to check brakes as well. They said all four corners need replaced, of course it is the dealership and they always

When I test drove the car the Brakes felt a little worn to me possibly slight warp in front left rotor. Bought the car anyway because all else was great.

Was figuring on doing the brakes soon but curious what reasonable priced aftermarket stuff that meets my wife's needs is available?

My guess is the slight warped feeling is from pad transfer on the rotor surface or an unbalanced wheel. You can take care of the pad transfer with some 120-grit sand paper or a light turning.

You may be right the alignment is stupid out of whack so that may also factor in. Going to do tires next month so I figure I'll do the alignment then and balance etc.

Check out Girodisc. They have awesome rotor upgrades and other options for the Evos. The two piece rotors on the MR can get pricey but you could always just get the Girodisc one piece rotors.

I have the Racing Brake ET500s as well and they are great. I would recommend those. PM Maperformance and get a great deal.

regardless of what other people might recommend, if this car is simply a DD that won't ever see the track, there is no point in spending more

just bet basic replacement rotors and Stoptech Street Performance pads (amazing pads) - though the rotor probably just needs to be turned as already stated

and get alignment checked

just remember it's not going to see the track - there's no reason to overspend here. recommendations of anything over a strong street pad and quality blank rotor are just silly
