recommend suspension upgrades please
finally got to test the new suspension set up at roebling in savannah. It worked very well. I kept the stock ride height so I did have to deal with a slightly higher roll center but I also had no wheel cuts (well very tiny ones - nothing of consequence) on my 275/35/18 hoosier r6 tires on 18x9.75 inch xxr 530 rims.
i liked the adjustability of the stance shocks- I ran 1:22.2 times at the track. I had the whiteline rear sway bar set to the stiffest suspension and I put 12k swift springs on the front and 10ks on the rear.
the shocks started out at halfway adjusted on the compression settings (16 way addjustable) and I had a bit of oversteer. After adding 6 more clicks to the front of compression stiffness the car was a very very slight understeer which is where I wanted it.
all in a great day with the car.
the only negatives is that i was still getting a little bit of roll over on the left rear tire - the track has very long sweeping radius left hand turns and you go into right hand turns pretty fast which is causing the roll over on the tire. I could only get 1.5% neg camber on the rear and i think I need at least 2 to solve this but there is no adjustment left.
any thoughts on this? is there a cheap adjustable lower control arm made for the car that will let me grab this last bit of adjutment at the track easily that is solid?
the ride on the street is noticeable but I am fine with it - I get a little more harder bump but I dont get the spongey bounding around like on the stock shocks.
also ran some new performance friction rotors on the front with st43 pads and it was a huge difference over the stock brembos. no brake fade or chattering. very nice.
