Rear brake pad replacement question

So my rear brakes have been squealing like the rear pads need replaced. I read some tutorials and checked out the how to article "HOW TO: Brake Rotors and Pads Replacement" seemed easy enough for a simple pad swap.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...placement.html

So I put the car in gear, make sure e brake is off, remove wheel/jack up car. Those 2 pins holding the pads in wont budge. I'm using a cold rolled steel punch and a hammer. Its actually put an indent in the end of the punch being neither pin is budging. These are the original pads, so im sure these pins have never been removed. Is there something im doing wrong? Any idea's tips?

these are the rear brakes on a 2010 evo gsr

make sure the pin is of the proper diameter and you are hitting the pin and not the caliper. My pins have dents in them but i've changed pads about 3 times.

After my first pad change I bought the brembo brake pad pin punch. Much easier the second time around with this tool.

THough a proper sized punch will get you there with the same amount of effort.
