ABS Service Required

Hello all. I’m a new Evo owner and member of the site. I was looking for some clarity on how to solve a problem. My ABS and ASC OFF lights are on and the middle of my display says “SERVICE REQUIRED”. I’ve tried pulling the fuses, disconnecting the negative battery cable, and resetting the service notifications on the dash. I smell the brakes rubbing on the back tires and have no idea what to do.
Please help!

Hi Jack

Hey, Im no ABS expert. I own the EVORS which is ABS delete

I would attempt an OBDII download & see if it reads the ABS fault. There is no doubt there is an active fault, just not sure if the OBDII picks up
that system. I will search around for that answer

Joe

Edit: Heres a thread that should shed some light. A standard OBD reader may not do it, but the thread offers up suggestions

I have a standard OBDII reader and hooked up to no avail, sadly. I’ll rummage through the link. Thank you for the help!

Yes, i wound up taking it to a tuner a couple hours from my house. He said the ETAC was bad and had to order a new one. He says now he has to take it to a Mitsubishi dealership and have them program it for my VIN. I’ll update whether or not it drives different when i get it back. I’s been gone since shortly after this post was made.
