Recommend a CAI

I am finally in the market to buy a CAI. I want to know what brand you have, how much did you pay, and how do you like it. Thanks for the help!

Let me clarify a bit. What CAI do you have for your RA and how much did you pay for it? I want to know what brands are out there for the RA's.

I don't have one yet, but here are your options:

RRM CAI - the only single-piece CAI out there right now, machined MAF housing

Injen - two pieces, works with bypass, don't know if this replaces the MAF housing or not

AEM - in developement, they told me it'd be out in around 2 months

RMR - also in development, around 2 months

People say there will be no performance difference between brands, it comes down to construction quality, price, and the pretty colors. Lots of people on this board are running both the Injen and the RRM with no complaints. So it's a matter of one piece or two?

My vote is for injen, but I'm sure RRM's second version is better than thier first version.

I love RRM's CAI version 2. Its only 230 bucks, so my vote is the RRM.

I have the RRM intake #1 which I think is better than ver. 2 because you have the short ram option, it's ok but I have had fitment issues with it, and just recently when I was cleaning the filter I noticed the "powder coat" which I think is just paint, is peeling on the inside of the piping I'm afraid it's going to damage the motor.....can other people with the RRM intake check the inside of the piping to see if they have a similar problem?

I would probably buy the injen intake if I had to choose again.

EDIT: For those diehard RRM guys who cant stand to hear anything negative about them keep in mind I'm not trying to slag them or anything, Im happy with everything else Ive gotten from them.

So, during the rainy weather, the Injen has the option to shorten the intake so water won't get sucked up?.......Does the RRM intake have this option as well?

Thanks.....

RRM's second version intake is a one piece design so no.

You don't really have to worry about rain it's the puddles it can rain all day and you will be fine as long as you don't try to drive over a huge puddle at least a foot and a half deep or more.
