I have pressure sensors before and after the intercooler (on our intercooler). We're only getting about 1.5-2 psi of pressure drop from the inlet of the intercooler to the intake manifold at 660whp - 38psi of boost. Part of the pressure drop is from the drop in temperature, as the air cools it becomes denser and the pressure drops. Doing a big comparison like you're talking about would be very expensive and time consuming. Each intercooler would need a pressure tap on each end-tank, and you'd need fast reacting (thin wire) thermocouples before and after the intercooler.

At lower horsepower (500whp) I'm seeing .5-1psi of drop. FYI the stock intercooler was getting about 3psi of drop at 360whp and ours was almost 0 at 360whp, hence the ability to hold higher boost on a stock turbo with our intercooler.

I have an APS and the core is thick. I had some heat soak issues with my stock one and the car would pull timing. Put the APS on and no heat soak no matter how hard I run it. It's a bar and plate design and it drops right in with no cutting or anything. Very nice unit.

HKS is overkill for stock turbo. Greddy is underkill unless you go R-SPL. Hope that helps. I am going AMS

Check out the Hyperflow unit. I am running one and am very happy with results. It can support well over 600 @ the wheels.
