i break engines in on the dyno with zero miles, and they all have excellent leak down and compression numbers. here's the compression off my 05' MR done today. not broken in like a baby needless to say.

cylinder 1

cylinder2

cylinder3

cylinder4
Run that same test at 100k and compare to an unbeaten model of the same mileage and let me know...'til then, I trust the manufacturer.

GreedMOTO- since it's fair to assume you followed the manufacturer's recommended break-in as closely as is humanly possible, I'd be interested to see your compression numbers. Just so we can get an approximate baseline for when that 100K miles mark comes around.

Sounds good to me! I know for a fact I have a strong healthy engine. Lemme take some compression pics for posterity and we can revive this debate in another 80,000 miles.

GreedMOTO- thanks for being a gentleman about it! There are a lot of folks around that would have taken my offer to make a comparison to mean that I was calling them a liar. It'll be good to finally have some real world data about the manufacturer VS hard break-ins.

Now both of you get to driving!! I want to see 100K Odo's stat!
