My buddy wants me to buy some airfliter thing from him... For like 50 bucks.... My question is... I already ordered a K&N A.F. So,, I am stuck... should i buy from my buddy or go with my gut feeling and stay with the K&N air filter.... it is 63 dollars... The one my friend wants to sell me through is busniess is something like IIP... (Indie Import Performance) N E one ever heard of that?

He may be your buddy, but I would stick with what you have on your car now.

That is what I was thinking too...... I just wanted to see if I was making the smarter of the two choices... Save money.. go with a better brand... Thanks for the insight!

I have one, a plate -- and have noticed some decent gains... I'm currently trying to find a way to increase flow through the box... Fortunately I'm at an engineering school and can do that flow-test stuff here...

Under-bonnet temps get quite high with a Lancer, stick with the panel filter. I had a K&N panel filter in the standard air box with a 4" cold air feed from the front grill and my car could pull 200km/h.
I swapped it for a K&N pod filter fed by the same cold air feed and it could only pull 190km/h... needless to say I swapped it back
