I don't mean to be rude or anything but have you considered that if you won't be getting the car for over 2 year from now it may be a little too soon to be learning what to do once you get it? I'm all for planning ahead but that is a big gap to be deciding what you want for a car. In 2 years there will likely be some shiny new car that will catch your eye and you won't want an Evo anymore. I'm not saying not to research the car or anything like that but I wouldn't worry about learning to do anything to it until you are certain you are going to get it.

Get a P2 from Works and have them set the rev limit to 5K and max boost to 15psi.

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/turbo.htm

theres the turbo section and i read thru it and learned a little, but i dont see what your saying

why would turning down the boost be bad for the car, if the MAF is working properly the car should compensate for the reduction in air flow and inject less fuel, and keep running like it normally would, just less powa

just buy an ebc like a Profec b Spec 2

Install it and then just unplug it, take it out of the car, and let your dad hold on to the control box

The car wont go above 12 pounds of boost and later you can turn it up

I swear. I love how you all have taken this thread that started out as a legitimate quest for knowledge about the car and completely raped it to death, turning it into a "You're too young / I'm older than you / I'm your dad / I have the car and I am older than you and therefore you should not get the car because you will surely die but I will live forever because my age automatically makes me the best driver in the world" fiasco.

Get the hell over it. If you took the time to read instead of making assumptions, you would realize that he is wanting to learn about the car for a POSSIBLE FUTURE PURPOSE and is wanting to know ways to make it LESS powerful than it is in stock form.

Sometimes I wish I could execute people through the internet.

man all you have to do is be light on the throttle, screw the mbc, ebc bull s***, they're used to raise boost that's why people put them in. If you don't floor it the car behaves like a normal car all you have to do is have self control. (if you don't have that, the evo is not the right car for you)

! Did I say get a Mini Cooper?
While you are on this board do some more research and find out about the tuners on EvoM.
You might as well just get a Hyundai !!!!!
