Question Integra Type R question?

I have never ridden in a type R before just a GSR. Can anyone tell me if theres a huge difference in the power when driving a type r. Does the type R pull alot harder and does VTEC kick in alot stronger. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The difference is hardly noticable. They are really not that different power wise.

1999 GSR - HP:170 crank

1999 Type R - HP:190 crank

type-r has a higher red line 9100 I believe. Also has more tq, and a better suspension, lsd i think also. check out www.honda-tech.com they will have all your answers. I have ridden in both and I can feel the difference, noy huge but it is there.

you can definately feel a little difference. The Type R pulls strong to redline and redlines about 800 rpm higher. VTEC is a little louder and punchier becasue of the cams and p&p head work. The type R has a better susension which is a little stiffer and weghs 90 lbs less. Type R s are fun little cars.

Disagree with the above statement of ''The difference is hardly noticable".

I've had both in the past...a 99 ssb gsr & after a 00 fbp itr. Had plenty of time behind the wheel of the Itr...

The Itr is faster, lighter, handles better, etc...Is it a HUUGE difference from the gsr? no. Substancial difference? hell yea. Just the overall feel and handling capabilites of the Itr is amazing for fwd. You can toss the hell outta that thing and push it beyond its limits its rediculous. Its seriously just so damn easy to drive hard. The car is really made for the track. And there is where it truly shines as some of our fellow Evo owners already know...

Vtec does pull harder...especially in 3rd..& sounds pretty damn good I might add..

quick facts for ya

- 195 hp ,130 trq -crank
- 2639 est. lbs
- 8400 redlne
- 14.7-14.9 sec car

Like IEXCELR8 said, chk out honda-tech. Theres a lot of good info on there.

Let me know if you need anymore info

I had a 99 Si and a 00 ITR and the ITR was great. It was a much stiffer ride than a GSR as well. I think my ITR stock was probably harsher than my evo was when it was stock. I think the ITR was overrated personally. They retained their value so well though. Right now I would rather have a used S2000 than another type R
