NewB question from not so NewB

Ok, so first off yeah, I realize I have more than 500 posts, and second, I tried searching, the damn search tool sucks major in finding EXACTLY what you want... anyway, this could or could not be a really stupid question... but:
How much hp is gained per pound of boost? Or rather, from 15psi = what hp? to ~18psi = what hp? to 20-21 = what hp? Any way anyone can answer this question, I'd really like to know... a good way to phrase the why I'm asking is: "what's the point of setting a mbc from 18 up to 20, assuming there already is an MBC set to 18 on the car"

Question

UT, I will give it my best shot. If I can remember, there was a post about this, not sure how long ago, but it has been a few months. If my memory serves me good, 1lb. of boost is equal to roughly 5-7 horsepower, if I remember correctly. Don't have a mbc yet, but I think a mbc holds boost a little better w/o tapering as much, but not sure. Hope this helps you out.

That works out perfectly, thanks, after my turboback the stock boost solenoid is running the car at 15psi, so I didn't gain ANY power, and I should be up ~20 hp... so that all makes sense, thanks much

ur only holding 15psi??? sounds like a problem i had, the stock vacum lines may be damaged or too long, you should be at least holding 19.5 down to 16.5 stock

It's the stock boost solenoid, but maybe I'll have mitsu check it out when I go in for 15k... just in case it's not 100% the stock solenoid

How can you not understand the question of how much power more boost gives? A ton of people have gone from stock to higher... I figured people would know
