i have noticed a lot more lancers and ecplises running around here in socal. i dont see how the sales are going down nowadays. im seeing as many lancers and civics, if not more.

Same here, I've seen about 7 new OZ Rally's in a 2 week period. And I saw a rally red Evo the other day.

saw a story on pbs a few months ago that talked about mitsu. basically the nuts and bolts are that they are the (oldest/largest, don't remember which) and that the pride of the japanese will not let the car arm go under. the gov't will continue to sink captial into the company until profitable. The US is one of the markets that they need to stay in to remain competitive as a company. mitsu is a mighty big ship and it will take a long time for the mgmt to turn it around again.....some of the new car releases indicate that at least they are looking into the future.
not an apples comparison, but remember hyundai 12 years ago and now look at them today..
